Check The Temperature 2 is me circling back to give you a portion of what keeps my turntables spinning. I dropped CTT 1 last summer, and got crazy feedback that I need to do this more often because there is so much music coming out nowadays and for most of us, it’s like a tidal wave. As much as we might think that we are tapped in, dialed in, locked in, or even got fingers on the pulse of the Culture, we must understand that this Universe of Hip Hop is ever expanding and adding on constantly. No matter the state, style, coast or artist, the goal is to grow your own way and most artists are making this their mantra. This is why DJ’s of all styles are needed and necessary. Our job is to ensure that lovers and learners of this music are up on what we feel helps push this Culture forward. "Shattered illusions" is an expression that means broken beliefs or hopes. This is Mixtape that follows that theme. Too many of us have faith in things that can somehow fail us. Family, Friends, Partnerships, Organizations, Love, and even Life has a way of surprising us. This has happened too many times to even count, but through it all you still have to keep going and stay ready for them and all the opportunities that come your way. Had to break this mixtape up into 2 parts because you'd be surprised how many songs deal with this topic. Goal this 2025 is to keep you flooded with great music. Tons of different tapes. Music First…A Dedication To DJ Clark Kent. God’s Favorite DJ has definitely had his hand in many legendary Hip Hop moments and deserves all the accolades that have come with it. Rooted in the genetic codes of artists like Dana Dane, Jay-Z, The Notorious Big, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and so many more, Clark Kent is one of one. DJing since a youth and even crafting the legendary Superman Crew of DJ’s, Clark Kent has left a mark and his legacy will go on. Here’s my tribute mix to him featuring some of his best production and comments. Artists like those mentioned above and a few other greats make this one up.
